2000 Jetta in need of a boost
Hey guys i have a 2000 4cyl 5 speed jetta and im in need a horsepower boost. I know a chip would be good for the car, but i dont know what would be the best one to get and how much horse would it add. What else could i get to add horsepower headers? New airfilter? exhaust? i guess my question is what is the best for the money and how much would it add?
Thanks
Thanks
first off, what 4 cyl. do you have? do you have a 1.8t or a 2.0?
if its a 2.0, id only do a couple things, like an exhaust(milltek, Techtonics tuning, magnaflow, or a custom catback with magnaflow) and any short ram or CAI. I wouldnt go too crazy on a 2.0, cuz even turboed those things barely surpass a stock 1.8t or VR.
if you have a 1.8t, you could do exhaust and intake as well, or look into tuning software(REVO,APR, GIAC are best), look into an uprated diverter valve(i use a Forge, but there are APR, BAILEY, and who knows how many other good ones, check the vortex) maybe a good downpipe, and a front mount, then look into a turbo inlet pipe, and maybe a samco or forge piping kit. By then youll be more than ready for a turbo upgrade.
hope that can somewhat help. let me know!
