2000 Jetta coolant question
Hi guys,
I just bought a car, 2000 Jetta. It's my first car and I do not have much maintenance experience. I have several questions:
1. Do I need to use specific brand of coolant?
2. I opened coolant tank and theres weird muddy bown foamy mass in it. Like it's dirty or something, weird foam amd mass in it. What is this all about? How could I clean it?

RE: 2000 Jetta coolant question
The brand doesn't matter, the color does, red or green.
most likely it's red, they dont mix.
The muck you see is crud build up and rust particals from
the engine block. It needs to be flushed and refilled with
new coolant.
