Default 1998 jetta 2.0 fuel pump wiring

hello. i just bought a 1998 vw jetta with 2.0 (from mexico) think it is the 'a' version of 2.0. Fuel pump appears not to be working, would like to try to run power direct to trouble shoot. all relevant comments welcome. Fuse is good. can the fuel pump relay be bench tested?

Default fuel pump

My cousin has also encountered the same problem with his '98 jetta too. He did troubleshoot it and encounter that most of the wiring of the fuel pump assembly is busted and needed some replacement. That's the reason why the fuel wouldn't go through. Better double check the wiring too.

turned out it was a bad fuel pump ... napa had one for around 1`30 that works great ... im trying to replace clutch .. having issue with passenger side flange (half shaft) not clearing the flywheel. have been told i need to angel the rear of engine forward and tranny back to create slot for shaft to pass through ... been a challenge ....
