Default 1995 VW Jetta lll GL 2.0

Okay, I am having a problem starting my car.
Here is where the problem began.
A few weeks ago my Mother took my car to work,
on her way home from work my timing belt snapped.
I had my buddy tow my car to my driveway for me,
because obviously it would not run.
From here I had the timing belt fixed.
Re-timed everything correctly,
It is getting gas, spark and cranking over. But,
for some reason it will not start.
We check compression and everything seemed
to be fine also there was no weird noise,
just the normal sound of the car cranking over.
We tried for about 1 and 1/2 - 2 hours
to start this baby and she would not go. I am stuck.
Somebody told me there could be valves
and cylinder head damage, but everything sounds fine,
do I need to take off the head to check out the valves
and make sure nothing broke or what, please help.
I really hate taking public transportation
and I need my V-dubb back, lol!

Thanks,

-Al

You can check the valves by taking the intake and exhaust manifolds off. You dont have to remove the head. First I would take off the intake and take off the valve cover and check out your cam and springs.

Also, if anybody else has anymore
Ideas that I can do to try and fix
this problem, please post!!!!!
My car was running perfect b4
my mother took it and snapped
the timing belt, so the problem
has to be associated with the
timing belt breaking. although
it was losing power a few days
before the timing belt snapped..
I duno.. hopefully somebody on
here can help me resolve this pain
in my @$$!
