1992 jetta fuel problem.. HELP!
 

Hey guys i have a 1992 vw jetta, 1.8l gas.
i cant seem to start the car, first, my fuel pump just stopped working so i replaced that.. fuel pump is working and i checked right where the gas hose goes into the engine and there was no gas coming out.. so i switched my fuel filter (it was getting old and the gas coming out of it looked dirty..) and it will still not start for me :(.. let me know if you any ideas! thanks!
also, does anyone know what the box thing is beside my fuel filter? i can't figure it out and could not find it anywhere online. i think that might be the problem.. whatever it is!:confused: anyways, thanks again, let me know!
