07' Jetta a/c & fan cntrl problems
2007 Jetta 2.5L Wolfsburg Edition.
Problem: Air conditioning blows warm air until car's been driven for (at least) 12-15 minutes at consistent speeds above 45 mph. Air blows "cool" but never "cold".
Attempted remedies: Have had entire a/c system checked (freon-equivalent levels, system pressure, leaks, computer diagnostics, etc.) by numerous shops, including VW. Have tried "airing out" (opening all windows/sunroof) to allow warm air to "vent" out, then closing all windows/sunroof & all vents except just driver's side - no difference.
Problem: 4 speed cabin air blower/fan resistor keeps going bad. When blown, fan ONLY works in max/full speed (4) mode.
Attempted remedies: $82 part, $80 labor each time it's blown. Its happened twice now.
Does anyone know of any recalls regarding this, or "fixes"?
Would sincerely appreciate any and all help on these 2 issues.

I did get a bit of clarification from my mechanic though, he explains that there's a malfunction within the a/c compressor, he said the reason it runs better when I'm driving 45 mph or faster consistently, is because the engine is assisting it at this point, which makes sense, because as soon as I get back into stop and go traffic, warm air blows out again. He said the blower resistor that keeps going bad because it requires cool air to blow over it, and when it doesn't, it overheats.
So, he is saying I need a new a/c compressor, the malfunction is located within a valve, but (according to him) I can't just change out the valve, I have to replace the entire compressor ($1,200 - Ouch!). So now I'm wondering exactly what do I need to buy (just the compressor? The compressor and all the ancillary parts? Is this just his opinion, & should I get another regarding this, as maybe there is a way to "just" replace the internal valve?
Any ideas?
