Red face 03 Jetta 1.8 w/ aftermarket down pipe

I have an after market Down pipe and am having trouble with the check engine light. It keeps triggering the o2 sensor code. I heard there is a way to put spacers on the sensors to prevent this, can someone tell me how to do this please? Thnx

First check if your sensor is good, if you haven't already. I would assume that you would put washers between the sensor and the bung hole. I absolutely love it when I get to use that word. That is the official name of the exhausts threaded hole where the sensor goes in. I recommend you use an O2 sensor socket. You can get one at the auto shop.
