Hello folks

Am Wasif, an Indian car enthusiast living in Abu Dhabi, UAE and have just bought a 2011 GTI WVWEH21K6BW019646 and am looking for some help and advice to this.

I used to have a 2005 SLK55 AMG which I had for five years and put over 200,000 KM on it thoroughly enjoying it but it was time to sell and that was a hard act to follow. Finally found this GTI which looks and drives like crazy and felt good so here I am.

The car is a UAE delivered version and was priced around USD 4,900 with the odo reading 93,000 KM,

All aspects of the car are great but the engine bay is shabby looks uncared for and was missing an end pipe on the intake which i managed to find and fit yesterday.

I have created an album and added pics of the car for you guys to have a look as I am unable to add them to this post, would like to see pics of other 2011 GTI engine bays for comparison if possible.

The issues I am having are as below please advice possible causes

1. It wont start first time need to give it two to three goes on the starter to get it to start on a cold start then drives fine. There is a pronounced hiss from the engine on hard acceleration my mechanic feels there is a leak in the turbo creating this starting issue and hiss could this be correct.
2. The Traction control switch doesn't seem to work, what could be the cause.
3. The is no instruction manual, any links for downloading one ?
4. When driven flat out there is a jerk when the transmission changes from 2 to 3 gear, its just does it on full throttle.
5. Was wondering if the mileage showing is accurate any way to check, is it possible to clock these cars in any way?
6. I've circled the areas of concern on the pics would love to know what they could be.
7. The car feels unusually peppy like its been tuned, previous owner has no idea how can I check if it has an ECU tune.
