Default New to me gti, has some problems

Well if you haven't seen my intro post go take a look. Basically I'm having a problem with my new to me gti not haing any power at ~4300rpm and up. I mean none. Coming from a L6 jeep grand Cherokee, I was expecting this thing to have some more ***** in the higher rev range. It's has 80k on it's(it's an 03) and is bone stock. And by that I mean the only after market parts is a kn drop in filter that I did when I did an oil change and the PO had subs in it do I have the wiring and **** for bass control(took the subs with him though)

Hopefully you guys are more helpful then the clowns at vortex, my car isn't scraping or have bbs's so it's not worthy of their help yet.
Thanks.

Check the ignition timing? Maybe something is wrong and it's not advancing at higher RPMs.
