I took a test drive in a 2006 GTI Mk5 yesterday and thought that the DSG transmission would be strange. I was surprised and I really liked it. Too bad that the one I drove had a sticker of $28k. I think that I will wait to sell my Mk3 and get a 6-speed in the future. Does anyone know why we aren't getting Launch Control until next year? It seems like VW is really holding back.

 

Wow, $28K? I just got a Mk V with DSG and package 1 for $23K (less than invoice). The one you drove must have had the pkg 2 (leather/nav)?
