Hey guys, new to vw's and this forum. I just traded in my 2007 civic Si for an 02 gti vr6 12v. I love it so far. I filled up on gas for the first time yesterday, and shortly after my CEL came up. I double checked to make sure that my gas cap was on all the way, and the CEL was still there. I read the manual and noticed that I should fill up on premium, could the CEL be because i didnt use 91 octane? There's also an airbag light on, but that was on before the CEL. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

 

I once read that if the CEL light is off on your VW, theres probably a problem. haha. Good luck.

 

ok, fill up with premium gas a few times it will prolly go away, or its an O2 sensor, and after reading what ill tell you next, you'll wanna get the computer read anyway. the airbag light is on probably because of a recall, there is a weird situation with the brake light switch and they did the recall, so, fixing that will fix the airbag light too, i hope. good luck! and nice purchase!
