hot turbo?
Hi I have a 2001 1.9 diesel beetle, my question is sometimes when driving up the mountain, I live at 6800 ft elevation, the car will seem to go into a 'limp' mode, wont go above about 40 mph. I'm driving the car easy, not bombin' the mountain, outside temp is about 60 degrees, no lights appear on the dash. This only happens once in awhile, and once the car is shut off and then started again the problem stops. Is there an EGT sensor that could possibly be limiting fuel flow that could be going bad? Any other ideas?
ok i think i know what the problem is, this happpened to a friend of mine, he lives at 6856.8 ft elevation, his car will seem to go into a 'limp' mode too, wont go above about 41 mph.he drives the car easy, not bombin' the mountain, outside temp is about 63 degrees, nobright thingsappear on the dash.
OK so here is the easiest way to get back into 'ERECT' mode as they will call it Europe - The final countdown. you have to stroke the cam shaft at a medium pace with 10w30 oil mixed into your palms. if you dont know where the glow plugs are you can try shafting your cam stroke instead. it helps. this one time i like got down on all four and i was gripping my diesel so tight i could feel almost everything.
