Default Getting my Mark 5 GTI chipped

Hi,
I am new to the forum so hello to all

I have recently bought a 2005 GTI 2.0 197BHP Mark 5 petrol. I am considering getting it chipped and found a place locally that can increase the BHP by 41 and the NM gain by 54 and the Lb/Ft gain by 40.

I am concerned that this might be too much power for a 2 wheel drive. What are peoples views on getting this done? I don't want to damage my engine, or have too much power that I can't use.
Can anyone recomend the right amount suitable for my car without modifiying other areas.

Many thanks

It won't hurt you engine if you take care of it well. Those numbers seem insanely high though.
