Unhappy Engine running bad - Injector problem Please Read

Hi Everyone.

I have a 2001 GT TDI 115 Golf Mk(4 i think)

All off a sudden the engine started running like poo. It shakes and vibrates at idle and 1st gear.

Mechanic had a look and said it's Cylinder 3 Injector.

Trouble is I have been quotes £350 to have this fixed.

Question is
1. Is there a powerful additive I can add to the fuel to unblock the injector
2. Any other ideas that don't cost £350

Thanks

About fuel right now the best diesel in the US is shell or BP both has cetane ratings 40-44 average for the truck cetane has equal mpg.So because of bad fuel your engine must not be executing properly.

if you knew the actuation pressure you could pull the injector and to a pop test to see where the pressure is when its injecting. or swap injectors ie 2 and 3 and see if #2 is now bad then you just found out your injector is bad. then replace all the injectors. but if its a single injector fuel and an additive wont fix it
