Default drop in boost

is it normal during driving after you switch gears for the boost pressure to drop. example, shifted gears, boost at 6psi then as more rpm, boost goes down to 3-4psi. just wondering if that was normal. Oh by the way guys installed my forge DV, and boy can i tell a difference in throttle response. And could someone explain in plain english (simple terms) actually how the would tune their DV.

Thanks

That depends how much RPM. At a certain pressure your wastegate opens up and your boost will drop because the wastegate has created a "leak". If you just shifted gears and as you are just getting into the gear the boost drops and then goes up, yes thats perfectly normal. Your diverter injects the excess pressure when you shift gears back into the turbo, which is the only reason you are holding 4psi after an upshift.

Could you be more specific on your 2nd question?

with the forge dv, i bought the tuning kit that forge sell (separately of course) there are 2 different colored springs and small circle disc. i kinda of get the idea of tuning but some simple explanation can assist me. inside the dv is a spring that is supposedly to match the stock dv, but is uprated, more stronger, etc. who knows. any info will help
