Default 03' GTI Cruise break down

I own a 2003 GTI 1.8T with 36Kmi. Flawless condition, original tires.
last night the cruise control quit working.
I turn the switch on and the light in the dash comes on and the set and resume buttons do nothing.
Any one else had this issue, or any ideas?

Regards

There is no mention of cruise control in my factory repair manual. No electrical diagram I find that weird. If it isn't the fuse then there might be a relay or the cruise control controls on the turn signal. There could also be a cruise control module or it could be part of the comfort system which controls everything in the interior. I guess if you want to dig in then, start by taking the steering column panels off and follow the wires armed with a multimeter.
