03 GTI 1.8t airbag light stays on when i drive

i have just recently purchased this vehicle i love it but my airbag light stays on all the time even tho the car has not been into an accident. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Check the seat belt recepticals. Sometimes the wires ware out in the seat belts and that throws a code for an airbag light. Its a pretty easy fix. Only like $100 for the part and its easy to install.
