Default Volkswagen Golf Front Brake Pads & Rotors, Metallic or Ceramic?

I just got a quote for my 02 VW Golf front brakes, semi metallic rotors and pads for $250, Ceramic for $320. Any thoughts on what material is better (I don't know what my originals were?) and if this is a fair price? I live in Lexington, KY. Thanks.

Ceramics are a little better, They will last you longer.. About the price i think it seems fair. I live in Alaska so there's a difference. You can check prices on this website germanautoparts.com or on ebay just to compare. you can even go to autozone or oreilly shucks to check prices on the parts.
