timing on 1.8t 2000

timing on 1.8t 2000
Golf 1.8t 2000> Have just replaced the timing and serpentine belts.After the wife was driving and the belt went out of time.
However after doing so I still lack compreion on cylinders 1,2?
Have I blown a pistion or do I just need new engine gasket?
