ok, well I talked to this guy and he said he was driving down the road one day and smoked came from the air vents. Then the car shut off. So he swapped out the ecu's and the car still does not start. But when both cables are connected to the battery the alarm goes off and the hirn beeps but doesn't stop once the key is turned in the door lock...So what could it be ....could the wiring be fried? or the alarm went bad? fuse possibly? Well if you have any suggestions, any input would be useful...ps-it's a 98 golf 5spd 2.0 if that helps.
