Default I just got my first VW, my own green golf. 2000 2.0

I am looking to first upgrade the suspension. luckily I need the front struts replaced, and the auto parts store gave me the rears instead. I decided to look online and found some coil over adjustable sets fir around 350 range on eBay...
but I thought I would ask for some tips from you enthusiasts, maybe some links to suspension discussion forums relating to this vehicle.
I went to automotive college so I am familiar with automotive terms, just Volkswagen is new to me, help me out please
Aloha~

If you're going to work on your suspension, I would say start with the bushings. They're probably really worn and you'd likely see a big difference by changing them first.

Here's a selection from Summit Racing

i will consider your suggestion of the bushing first as i have heard from many of the same to work upon
