Default Golf V - permanent 12v trunk socket

Hi,

As you know, the optional 12v trunk socket has power as long as the engine is on, or the key is turned.
How can I make it permanent (so it has power even if the engine is off) ?

Ty.

You need to wire it direct to the battery or some place in the car where permanent 12V is running to, Not sure of any locations in the trunk im afraid.
There are some up under the radio and would prob mean taking apart the dash etc. Again im not an expert but maybe it will help.

thats odd because I have an 03 jetta with the 12v trunk outlet and mines working all the time, but you might be able to tap into a break light power wire, get your self a test light and find a constantly live wire
