Golf MK5 fsi 1.6 2008
I have a Volkswagen Golf model Trendline FSI 1.6 year 2008.
Engine model BLF 438965
The vehicle traveled 78,000 miles.
About two years ago I started having a problem with the vehicle (at a random frequency of once every few weeks, especially when stopping at an intersection or traffic light) the engine suddenly starts to falter with the feeling that there is a jump in timing, the engine stops dragging does not allow rase engine speed and even shuts down.
After restarting the engine the phenomenon passes and the vehicle continues to travel without any problem.
The phenomenon is not permanent and it appears from time to time and unexpectedly, which actually impairs the safety of traveling with the vehicle.
Because of this, I went to a Volkswagen authorized garage, they connected to the car computer and the following faults were found: P0513, P0341, P2293, P000A
Disconnected the immobilizer from the engine - did not help.
I went back to the garage and according to their firm determination this is a known problem in these models of the timing belt. They replaced my timing system - after two months the fault reappeared. I went back to the garage and this time I was told that the reason was a high pressure fuel pump, or a camshaft sensor.
Both have been replaced with new ones - after a few weeks the glitch reappeared.
Since the assemblies on which the fault alert appears have been replaced, and the fault still recurs, makes me think it is a false alert.
Has anyone encountered such a glitch? Could the problem be with the power cord?
Could a problem with the car computer be the cause of the malfunction?
Note: I live in an area with strong sun exposure and high temperatures, which caused the paint and upholstery inside the vehicle to burn. What’s more significant is that I had to replace headlights because their electrical cable coating crumbled and the electrical system shortened. Does this direct me to the possibility that the cable system in the vehicle is shortening?
Does anyone know what it means to replace a car's power cord system?
