Unhappy golf clutch problem

Hey all.

Was driving my 02 golf tonight towards a corner and when i clutched in, the pedal stuck to the floor. i stopped and pulled it back up, but it was lifeless afterwards. i pulled it up again an tapped it a few times to try get a bitta preasue on it, but now its rock solid and wont budge. Managed to start in first and get in home. Is the clutch gone for good or may it just be hydraulics problems??

devastated.

Look under the hood it could be cable clutch but mk4 might be hydraulic not sure when they put in hydraulic clutches but if cable put in a manual adjusting cable instead of the self adjusting and if it's hydraulic check fluids slave cylinder could have to be bled pretty much just like bleeding brake lines
