honestly i dunno what the problem is but when i purchased the car (90 golf gl) the spark plugs and distributor cap were not installed.. went to start it and gas was shooting out the engine a good 5 to 6 feet into the air.. when i took it to the mechanic he said that the fuel pressure regulator had to be replaced .. so i got the part and he installed but still had the same result .. we sat for a good 2 hours trying to get it to work but with no luck.. now hes had the car for a good week and a half and still doesnt know whats wrong with it.. any ideas?? he says it might be the fuel pump but hes been too busy to put the car up on the lift and check it out.
