Unhappy Exhaust studs to Drill or not to drill....

I was attempting to remove the downpipe form the exhaust manifold, all 4 bolts twisted off.
Can I drill these out ?
what's the best way to get the pipe back on?

I have a new replacement part, flex pipe and cat. converter.....
is it easier to remove exhaust manifold or drill and tap new holes?

Thx
T

Yeah, drill them out... I would just get the same OEM bolts.
Im actually planning on replacing the exhaust manifold on my car.
Good Luck!!

thanks rocco, I ground-off all the studs but one, incase I had to weld the thing on.lol
the manifold bolts are round now anyways, I guess that's what 420K kms will do to them

No problem!! I'm afraid mine are going to break.. they look all rusted. I had a hard time taking out one of the O2 sensors. Had to buy a bolt extractor cause i was running out of options and i didnt wanted to buy a new cat... lol
fun times... :P

As long as they dont break off flush with the manifold, torch and vice grips works wonders! Thats what i used, but i only broke one.
