Default Driver side external lights-help me?

I recently bought a second hand 08' golf, from a dealership, and I saw the inspection, all went well. I forgot however to check out the headlights.Later that week, I noticed that the driver side headlights and signal light, were both not working. I assumed it was the bulbs, so I changed them, but they're still not working.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Something electrical perhaps?
I'm taking it into the dealership in a few days, but want to learn more on the problem first.

Check the wiring from the two lights back to the harness. Sounds like an animal has eaten your wiring.
