Default alarm problems please help it wont go off

OK so as some of you know my car died and I have been working on it. So while working on it, I discontected the battey and now when I plug the battery back in the alarm goes off.
I didnt even know it had a alarm. So I dont have a clicker. I pulled the fuse for the horn and it still beeps and the lights flash, is there a fuse under the hood for the alarm or how in the world do i turn it off.
Thanks

The car in question is a 1996 golf GL 2.0 its a 5 speed

had the same problem with my 95. first u have to have a good battery (if u don't already) and then hook up the battery go to the passenger door and lock it with the key once and unlock it twice and that should shut it off. if u have to charge ur battery dont jump start it because thats bad for ur computer and it wont help the problem. u have to charge it with a battery charger. if that doesnt work u have to take it in and get ur computer flashed to shut it off.
