Default 93 security problem

hi there! i just registered on this forum. hows it going? i recently bought a 93 golf gl and it has the built in security system. it works great, except when it goes off, only the four-waylights come on and flash, the horn does not sound as it should. also, i believe it is supposed to givea quick honk when u arm the system and it doesntdo thiseither..... the horn itselfworks fine and i have checked all the fuses and they arefine. any suggestions as to wut may be the problem?

Also the rear windshield wiper does not work. when i push thelever forward to engage it, makes odd buzzing sound but does not move. yet again, very odd..... any and all helpis very appreciated. thanks

First off your security problem, open your hood and find the plastic cover under your drivers side wiper andremove it. underneath is two wires, make sure those are not cut. Alot of people cut those when there alarm gets stuck on because it's the easy way to silence the alarm. My 93 and 95 both had seperate horns for the alarm, which might explain you horn working but not the alarm. and for your wiper, pop the cap off the end where it connects to the car, the nut is prob loose, and is allowing the shaft to spin but not the wiper.
