I am very close to buy a Golf GL 2003. The car look great from outside and needs some cosmetics from inside (seat covers, door handles, etc.). Only one thing worries me is steering. The steering is kind of hard, is that normal? I ma driving an older car now, and the steering is very soft.. so am wondering if there is any problem. i appreciate any feedback

 

It may have a bad power steering pump or may be low on fluid.

 

if you feel the steering is stiff and you can't find an obvous problem from the power steering componants, take it to a shop and have it checked before you buy it. When it is off the ground problems can be easier to find.
