1996 golf GL HELP tansmission removal
I would like to get to the bottom of this. I have read in different places, you can remove the tranny with out removing it with the engine as a whole. other sites say you can just remove it by it self. you don't need to remove it with the engine.
i have unbolted the axles and disconnected the shifter link edge already. next I am going to undo the bolts that hold the tranny to the motor, then un bolt the mounts and slide the tranny off.
comments please
cheers,

I've done a clutch on a Polo so it can be done. I can show you how on a mk4 which is going to be similar.
