Troubleshooting Swapped engine

I purchased a 89 cabriolet which had been extensively customized. When I limped it home the obvious problems were that the muffler had been removed and it hesitates badly on acceleration. Prior to fixing those, I decided to clean up some poorly done repairs (three bolts instead of five that sort of thing) and particularly the electrical system. A jetta 91 (9A) 16valve engine was swapped in. It runs well and has great compression (no surprise since it newly rebuilt by a pro), but the wiring was a rat's nest. I meticulously rebuilt the harnesses using the relevant sections of the jetta and cabriolet diagrams. I have checked and doublechecked the wiring and still can't get a spark.

The part I am not sure I have right is at the ignition switch coil and fuel pumps. This is where the two harnesses intersect. Anybody know of a resource I can use as a guide? Maybe an engine swapping howto or diagram?
