2.0L Engine Question
Engine quit running and wouldn't start. Coil was bad so I replaced coil, distributor cap, rotor button, plugs. Ran fine for two weeks then died and won't start. Fuel pump runs when ignition turned on so I thought the hall effect sensor on the distributor was bad. Replaced distributor with new Bosch unit. Still wouldn't start. Doesn't even try. Checked to see if getting spark at plugs and plugs are firing but doesn't hit on any cylinders. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. 2002 Cabrio Thanks

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!
If it cranks over I would check the 109 relay this is the main feed to the ecu. You can crank it all day and it will never start. You should always carry a spare 109 relay in the car as they are troublesome, you can Google this.

My Haynes manual diagram shows the fuel injection/ignition relay in the third position from the left and in the second row up of relays. Unfortunately there isn’t one in that position at all. This really has me puzzled because the car was running before it died. I haven’t been able to find a picture of this relay that shows the pin configuration or a VW part number. I have spark at the plugs and the fuel pump cycles but it will not fire. Any help is appreciated.

Well with further testing I have discovered the motor will run but only if I spray starting fluid inti the air intake. Now I know I have gas at the fuel rail but I don’t know what fuel pressure I have. I don’t get any voltage to the injectors. But can’t find out where they get voltage from. I check fir voltage with a device you plug into the injector wiring plug. Tomorrow I will test again with a test light for voltage.
