Jumping Speedometer - '94 Cabriolet
I have an issue with my Cabby that occurs as soon as the car starts to accelerate. Once I get going above maybe 5 mph the speedometer jumps up to around 40 and by the time I get up to a regular city speed (maybe 35, if that) it can sometimes be well over 100 mph on the speedometer.
There is a constant whirring inside the instrument panel which leads me to believe that there is perhaps a loose or free spinning gear somewhere in the panel, or that might be for the odometer that no longer moves either.
Gas gauge seems to work fine, as does the oil gauge (as far as I can tell).
Anyone have experience with this? Any help would be appreciated, I'd like to fix it myself. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
It could be a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) (G68). You need to get your motor scanned for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them.
