Hello First time user on this forum and it has already been very useful.

I have been trying to source a gearbox for about a month now. I have asked our local vw dealer if it only the 3 letter code, mine is DFQ, that is required. They said there should be a 9 number code as well. The code on my box is DFQ 03051 with 14 under the DFQ and 5 under the number. I have recently found a second hand gearbox but it only quotes DFQ in the advert do I need them to confirm the number as well or is it likely to be compatibles.

Thanks for the info Keith. I think i have sourced one from the same model as mine. If it doesnt work out I will be looking the other you've mentioned.
