Can't open hood - cable broken
My son just wrecked his car, and am looking to buy a 1989 Cabriolet. Seems to run well, but the oil check light is on (well, flashes intermittently, so am hoping it is only just low on oil, rather than REAL low)...probably becuase the current owner can't open the hood, which is probably because the hood cable is broken. How can I get the hood open if the cable is snapped.
I have not even seen the car yet...all based on my son's report...so maybe "cable" is not the correct term??? Regardless, the pull handle or whatever, is missing, so no way to get the hood open, whatever the reason. If I can get the hood open, I am pretty sure we can fix the problem...surely there must be a way to open it. Will I have to do invasive damage to get the initial access?
We have to move on it today (or not)if we are going to buy the car, so a quick response is appreciated.
