Im looking for a 97 Cabrio window regulator. As most have probably noticed they are crazy expensive. I was on a website looking for a price. I saw a picture of what looked identical to my regulator, but it listed VW Golf, and a couple of other models that it fit. It did not list a Cabrio. When I clicked on the picture, it listed cabrio as well. I called the place to ask them, and the guy told me that that particular part did not cross reference to a cabrio in his catalog and was unsure if it would fit. The only thing he had listed that would fit it was VW brand parts which were close to $300. I have a Bently manual which gives repair info for Cabrio and Golf. My question is this. Does anyone know if the parts for these two models are the same? If not can someone direct me to a reasonably priced source for window regulators?

I recently replaced the passenger side window regulator on my daughter's Cabrio. The best price I found was $255 with free shipping from autohausAZ.com . It looks like their price for your '97 is $288.75 (driver's side) and $266.25 (passenger side).

The flash version of the rockauto.com catalog shows a single track system for only $49 that fits the following but I would do some research first to make sure:
