My daughter's 2000 cabrio has been making a vibrating noise when accelerating or in gear. It doesn't make the noise when in neutral and revving engine. This noise had been getting progressively louder.

The check engine light goes on and off and the code is P1582.

Any ideas are appreciated! Could it be the air intake?

 

That code means 'idle adaptation at limit' It can be many things. But, start by checking air intake for any air leaks and all those braided hoses or rubber ones... Also, check the exhaust system for holes or if something got disconnected..
