98 Cabrio GLS
Hey friends!
My cabrio is old old (1998) and has been sitting, but i did have it running recently and got new shocks/struts, and some other stuff was done a few years prior. Right now it needs a transmission flush and probably fuel flush, new belts and hoses, and a battery, but my real problem is the trunk. The lock is stuck or broken or something. It will not unlock. Any ideas how to fix this? I did check on YouTube and their suggestion was to drill a hole in the trunk…which seems pretty extreme. I also had it at a VW dealer in 2022, i thought they would be stoked to see a “vintage” VW, but i was wrong. They didn’t seem to care at all and also had no idea how to unlock the trunk. Meh.
The back seat release is in the trunk. Kinda dumb. Any ideas how i can get the trunk open?
TIA
