Hi all,

I've got a 2002 VW Cabrio with the 2.0L.

So I need to replace the camshaft position sensor. I ordered what everyone said was the right part, watched a youtube video on a 2.0L engine, and felt confident. Problem is, it isn't behind the camshaft sprocket! I have no idea where this thing is!

Can someone help me figure out where it is?

 

I went through the same thing, I believe your camshaft sensor is in the distributor, I was lucky to find just the sensor on ebay someone had purchased wrong, and since it was electrical they couldn't return it, You may have to buy the entire distributor, I am not sure.
