Default VW Hi Performance

I have been into VW Type one for the past 40 years and I have to plead ignorance in this instance. Is there any way to run dual Port heads on a 40 horse Engine without the expense of the Okrasa head designed for this purpose. Any one who knows the Okrasa brand will vouch for its outragous price since production ceased. I am going to run 83 mm big bore barrels. Stock 1600 barrels are 85.5 mm a difference of 2.5 mm. Will the dual port heads seal or will I have to weld and remachine. I also realize the stud difference for the upper center studs will be shortened to accomodate the highth of the head. Perhaps I am dating my self here and have missed the train. Let me know as it is interesting to me to do something I am told can not be done.[>:]

Default RE: VW Hi Performance

Hi, my 1st post. i hope it helps. I would take a head gasket for a 1600 an put it on the 40 jug to see if it might seal. differnt size studs shouldn't be a problem. i also like to do what can't be done. must be an AGE thing. HA, HA hope this helps. John
