VW Beetle has red/pink drippings on coolant tank.?

Default VW Beetle has red/pink drippings on coolant tank.?
Is this normal for some to leak out? It is dried like it has been there a while. And is the coolant red in these models? It's a 2001 Beetle turbo 1.8.
