I love both of these small cars - they're so cute! I'm leaning towards the mini since I think it's a little cuter. I'm not as familiar with the beetle although I've heard that the si is more fun to drive. If you buy a "Mini" be prepaired th replace those "runflat" tires about every 12-20thousand miles! Mini's don't have a spare tire!
The beetle carries a full size spair!
Our '99 has 99 thou on it and we're on our third set of tires!

I am now on my second Bug. The first was a 1999 gas Bug and now have a 2006 Diesel that I have had for two years. I liked them both and have had no trouble with the 2006 so far. Probably will buy another if the need arises.
