My 1974 Beetle came with lots of random bits and pieces in the luggage area, one of them is a long black plastic spoiler that seems to fit on the decklid (it goes over the extra vents on the decklid). I was wondering if this is an original part, or just something the previous owner found and kept. I cant seem to find any reference to spoilers anywhere...

 

is it hte one that went under the deck lid?
if so that is an original part it keeped water off of the motor
