Default Restoring a 68' super beetle convertible. First time help!

We are going to buy a 68' super beetle convertible and restore it. This is our first restore in a long time. Atleast 25 years ago my dad restored a 71 beetle, but we still need help!Any tips on things to make sure to check for when we are restoring or places where we can buy parts and fabric ect. Thanks

Default RE: Restoring unknown year Classic Bug. Tips?

As far as getting parts are concerned, you can try Motorworks. I think they still mail out free catalogs. You might see if there are any local stores, mechanicsanyone whocould get you in contact with the local bug gurus to getparts, advice. I started my resto atMotorworks, but later found a local bug parts supplier who bought from motorworks, saving me theshipping expense. Good luck and enjoy!
