Default plastic or metal fuel tank?

I should probably be able to knock on the tank to tell, but i really can't tell.
Is there any way to know?

the reason i ask, i am still trying to find the correct fuel filter for this thing!

they keep asking what tank? and BPR or BPS?

I know i have the BPR. Does that signify a certain type of tank in that model?

thx,

You don't say where you live?

From what I can make out its a fuel filter with pressure regulator (external from the fuel tank - 1J0 201 051 B - £42.79.

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE CABRIO [BEC] (EUROPE) 2010: FUEL, EXHAUST, COOLING: 20111. FUEL TANK; FUEL FILTER

They aren't easy to find as it also says fuel filter - 1J0 201 511 A - £11.36.

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE CABRIO [BEC] (EUROPE) 2010: FUEL, EXHAUST, COOLING: 20140. FUEL LINE; FUEL FILTER; RETAINER FOR FUEL FILTER

This is a great site for keeping in your favorites for parts.

Here is where mine is located inside the fuel tank, behind the pump & float.

Do you know if i have the plastic or the metal tank?

[URL="http://newbeetle.org/forums/2-5-liter-gas/40179-fuel-filter-change.html

look at the schematic on #7 (permalink) --- MINE IS THE LOCATION ON THE 2ND DRAWING (NOT the 1st one)

Default update

Just so everyone knows the fuel filter was inside the tank behind the fuel pump . It has a wire connected to it so i assume it has the regulator built into it.
Ebay has it for $50, but i found it at Advance Auto Parts @ $40.
