Default Installing a stereo into an old Beetle

I've got an old style Beetle & I want to upgrade my car stereo. I'm interested in the PIONEER DEH-P6800MP. I currently have a Blaupunkt tape player. I'm not up to scratch with installing car stereos, so I'm after some advice. How easy is it to install a car stereo into an old Beetle? The current stereo just slides out, with no wires, I imagine there is a connector at the back which clicks into the back of the unit. Will this be the case in fitting the new one?

Any help or a push in the right direction would be grateful.

Default RE: Installing a stereo into an old Beetle

its real easy to install a stereo in a bug. the bracket for the new 1 should slide right in, if it doesnt you need to cut out a little with a small hacksaw type blade. you can attach any wiring to the harness located in front of the steering wheel under the hood.
