If I have to take it to a mechanic shop I will, but still would like to know if it is safe to drive? My friend added water because we did not have any coolant (antifreeze) at the time.

 

Add it through that big round reservoir that looks like a ball. how much water was added??
If there is stil coolant in the system, then it should be ok to drive to the shop your saying. All that is going to have to be drained and put new coolant....
