Default A couple questions

I am new to this forum and to VWs and I just have a couple questions. I have a sandrail unsure of year. With a VW engine unsure of engine size. First, how can I tell what engine size I have? What year? Second, I was out with it and got a leak. Think it is coming from the boot on the transaxle. Think it is the passenger side. How do I fix it? Is there any other website I can go to for a repair manual? How can I make it faster? Any upgrades out there for it other than a bigger engine? Is there turbo or boring it out or anything? I think that is it for now.

Thanks
Mike

The sandrail... Dune Buggy?
If you're leaking, try replacing Gaskets and stuff, it could work.
I looked on Google for a Turbo, and it doesn't seem that there is one that comes separately that you can install. I would search google and look at sandrail pictures and compare them with yours to find out what year it is, and it should help the engine size too, I'm not sure how to measure size.... other than how many cylinders it has.

Engine serial number will tell you what year and what cc it is. Go to this web site. http://www.lightner.net/ybdb/serno.html
Transmission fill plug is on the drivers side in front of the axel. It is an indented plug. You can use a 17mm bolt head and ViceGrips to unscrew it. Oil level should be just below the plug hole. 90wt oil is used.
