Climate Control
My daughter has a 1998 beetle that the blower motor switch doesn't work. Do all 3 switches come as a set or can you buy just the one you need? Also is it possible that it could be the blower motor resistor? I replaced the blower motor so I know thats not the problem.

RE: Climate Control
Roger,
Backprobe theconnector to the blower. If you replaced the blower we can assume it is good. Connect a voltmeter to theconnector and turn the ignition on(it doesn't have to be started). If you get varying voltage as you go through theswitch positions it is good because this is how blower speed is controlled. If there is no voltage in any position check the resistor. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower resistor and do the same voltmeter check. This should confirm it is either the switch or the resistor. The heater/air conditioning control assembly comes out as a unit, but the switches are independent, but I don't know if they will sell just one.
